Dear Student:
The Northern Virginia Alumni Chapter of North Carolina A&T State University welcomes you to the North Carolina A&T State University experience where a challenging and exciting school year awaits. We are delighted that you have chosen such an outstanding institution to continue your education.
We are proud to announce that the Northern Virginia Alumni Chapter will be awarding three $2,000 scholarships to qualifying full-time students from the Northern Virginia area to go towards your tuition, books, and/or fees at North Carolina A&T State University. You are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
The following are the procedures to assist in completing the attached scholarship application package:
1. Review the Eligibility Requirements and Criteria.
2. Complete the enclosed
scholarship application, activities page, and essay questions.
3. Upload three signed letters of
recommendation.
4. Upload an unofficial transcript.
5. All application materials must
be submitted via this form.
6. Please take your time and be thorough in your
submission.
7. Applicants will be notified in May via email.
Applications must be submitted no later than March 20, 2026. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered.

ELIGIBILITY
REQUIREMENTS
- An unofficial transcript from
your high school.
- The applicant must be a
candidate for graduation from a high school within the service
area of the Northern Virginia Alumni Chapter of North Carolina
A&T State University (as described above).
- Acceptance
letter from North
Carolina A&T State University in the Fall of 2026 as a freshman.
- Be a United States
citizen.
- Applicants must
have a minimum Grade Point Average
(GPA) of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 weighted scale.
- A completed
scholarship application
MUST be received by the Scholarship Committee
no later than March 20, 2026.
In Addition to the Completed Application,
Applicants Must Submit the Following:
- An unofficial transcript from
your high school.
- Three letters of
recommendation; up to two of the letters can be from school officials and
one letter must be from an adult who is not an official of the school (you
may use an alumnus of North Carolina A&T State University; however,
the person cannot be a relative).
- Attach a recent photo of
yourself to the application.
- Answer a one-page double-spaced
essay of 300 to 500 words on the following topic: North Carolina A&T
has a rich tradition and history of AGGIE PRIDE. AGGIE means Achieving Great Goals in
Everything. While enrolled at North Carolina A&T State University, how
or what do you plan to do to continue AGGIE PRIDE? Reflecting on the rich
tradition and history of AGGIE PRIDE at North Carolina A&T, consider
how you can contribute to this legacy during your time at the
university. What specific actions,
initiatives, or personal goals do you plan to pursue that embody the
spirit of AGGIE PRIDE? Discuss how you intend to engage with the
community, foster excellence, and inspire others, ensuring that the values
of AGGIE PRIDE continue to thrive throughout your journey at North
Carolina A&T State University.
Selection
The Northern
Virginia Alumni Chapter Scholarship Committee is responsible for selecting
recipients based on the eligibility and criteria guidelines outlined in the
agreement.
